“I participated in Heather’s Project SPOT (self-powered outdoor travel) because essentially I needed a kick in the butt to get into the outdoors again. In the years prior to the project, I used to be very active but had suffered some big setbacks in life, which basically wiped out my confidence in my body and mind. Sometimes it was even hard to just leave the house, so doing a bigger trip seemed far off.
Heather came through with so much care and enthusiasm, that - from the very beginning - I felt like I was in the right hands. She loved sharing her knowledge for all things nature, trip planning and prepping as well as gear, techniques for warming up and proper walking, which you would usually need years of experience to have.
The day of my trip, I felt so supported and set up for success that I only had to enjoy my journey and be open to the adventure. It was great and a huge step in the right direction for my recovery of self-esteem and my connection with nature!
I am immensely grateful to Heather for her undying enthusiasm, all the laughs, and her patience. I am already looking forward to a bigger trip this summer!”

“Living in Switzerland is amazing; you have the best views and landscape in your backyard. I have always been conscious about joining group hiking due to my physical challenges. Fear of slowing others down had stopped me from venturing.
As one can imagine, my ”exploration” was limited to city areas. That is until I met Heather and participated in her Project SPOT (self-powered outdoor travel).
Heather provided me with the right training, tips, tools, and mind-set on how to venture into this new world of hiking. She constantly checked on me when I was on a walk and was available online if I needed help or was lost.
Today, I am still at the beginner’s stage, but I am sure in the months to come I will gather a world of walking opportunities to tap on. Thank you Heather for your patience and determination to help me break that fear. Know that you made a difference.”

“Planning my outing with Heather was really great. She was able to find a good balance between providing what was more moral support in some areas and deep diving into other aspects that I had no clue about. So once I got going I felt I was ready and supported. I am already looking forward to my next adventure that I will plan with Heather‘s support!”

“As an outdoor enthusiast, I struggled to find the best way to plan my solo hikes and find routes that would allow me to enjoy the beautiful nature without the tourist crowds. Then I met Heather. She equipped me with the info I needed to plan my own tours, checked my equipment pointing to gaps I needed to fill, and planned my solo adventure which was a blast. Moreover, she gave me the courage and empowerment I needed to make the step out of my comfort zone.”
